In short: Solarus is offline-first and does not perform any background network communications or telemetry, except for update checks.
Data Collection
- No data is collected by the Solarus engine, launcher, or editor.
- No analytics, tracking, or telemetry are implemented.
Data Storage
- Game saves and application settings are stored locally on your device.
- All data remains on your system unless you explicitly move or share it yourself.
Network Communications
- The engine itself does not connect to the internet.
- Solarus Launcher connects to official servers only to check for updates.
- Solarus Editor does not connect to the internet.
- Games created with Solarus may include their own online features; such behavior is defined by the quest author and is outside the scope of the Solarus engine.
Crash Reporting
- Solarus has no built-in crash reporting to remote services.
- If crashes occur, any logs or dumps are created locally only and are not sent automatically.
Third-Party Content
- Community-made quests, plugins, or external tools may have their own privacy policies. Please review those individually if you choose to use them.
Your Choices and Rights
- You control your local data. You can delete game saves and configuration files at any time.
- Since Solarus does not collect or transmit data, there is no remote data to request or delete.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this document to clarify behavior in new releases.
- Significant changes will be noted in the project’s changelog.
Contact
- For any privacy question, please open an issue in the Solarus repository.
